Chris Babel is the CEO of TRUSTe, the leading trustmark and recognized authority on Internet trust and privacy. Chris possesses over a decade of experience building online trust, most recently as Senior Vice President and General Manager of VeriSign's worldwide Authentication Services business, where he was responsible for strategy, sales, marketing, product and support. Chris also previously managed VeriSign's SSL and Managed Security Services business. In these roles he helped grow the businesses though the launch of new products to enterprise and small/medium businesses, international expansion in EMEA and Asia and through acquisition and integration of a number of companies. Chris also spent time in Corporate Development and as Chief of Staff to the CEO where he led strategic planning and execution of over 20 acquisitions. Prior to joining VeriSign, Chris served as an Associate in Morgan Stanley's Technology Mergers and Acquisitions group and its Corporate Finance group working on transactions like Netscape's sale to AOL. Chris holds a BA in Mathematical Methods in the Social Sciences and Economics with Highest Distinction from Northwestern University and lives with his wife and three sons in San Francisco.

Rick has over 24 years of experience in the IT industry, the last 17 focused on cyber security. Previous positions were held at DMI, and as a Risk Management Consultant at Gartner. He was Chief Scientist at the Lockheed Martin Center for Cyber Security Innovation (CCSI). Rick was Managing Principal for Verizon Business’s East Coast Professional Security Services practice. Through most of his career, Rick ran penetration testing, forensics and incident response teams, and risk management professionals across all industries and the US federal government. Rick has spoken at conferences such as SC Magazine World Congress and SANS, conducted Cyber Webinars for MS– ISAC, and has been quoted in dozens of security articles such as Dark Reading, SC Magazine, Infosecurity Professional magazine, Kreb’s on Security, and Mashable, on the topics of cyber security and mobile security. Rick has appeared on CNN, TechTV, and the National Insider as a cyber security expert. Rick is on the Intel Corp. Enterprise Board of Advisors, and the Council on Cyber Security, 20 Critical Security Controls Editorial Panel, a Contributor Board Member of the Trusted Computing Group (TCG). Rick also holds a Patent for Wireless Intrusion Detection technology.

Kevin brings over 15 years of high-tech product management and entrepreneurial experience to TRUSTe and is an industry thought leader around online identity, reputation and trust. Prior to TRUSTe, Kevin founded AssertID, a technology company that provides identity- and age-verification services for social networks. Previously, Kevin spent eight years at VeriSign, including as director of product management for the SSL, authentication and security services business units. Kevin holds multiple patents and patent applications in online identity.Before joining the Internet industry, Kevin held positions in the semiconductor and chemical industries in product management, product development, engineering and operations. Kevin has a Masters of Science in Management from the Stanford Graduate School of Business, where he is a Sloan Fellow. Kevin also holds a Bachelors of Science in Chemical Engineering from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, where he concurrently served as a lab administrator for the University Computer Services Organization.

Hilary Wandall is Associate Vice President, Compliance and Chief Privacy Officer of Merck & Co., Inc., a global health care company that operates in more than 140 countries. She has led the Merck Privacy Office and the company’s global privacy program since 2004. In 2013, she also was appointed Divisional Compliance Officer for Merck Animal Health, and is responsible for leading the global ethics and compliance program for this business unit that provides veterinary pharmaceuticals, vaccines, and health management solutions and services. She has broad multi-disciplinary experience in HIV research, genetic and cellular toxicology, internet marketing, corporate law, ethics and compliance, and privacy and data protection. Her career in healthcare spans over 20 years.
Hilary is actively engaged in a broad range of industry and pan-industry outreach and advocacy efforts to address evolving information policy and privacy and data protection policy issues. She is a member of the Board of Directors of the International Association of Privacy Professionals, the Board of Directors of the International Pharmaceutical Privacy Consortium, for which she previously served as Chair, the Board of Directors of the Foundation for Information Accountability and Governance, and the Future of Privacy Forum Advisory Board. She recently served on the OECD Privacy Experts Group responsible for reviewing the 1980 OECD Guidelines on the Protection of Privacy and Transborder Flows of Personal Data. She holds a B.S. in Biology from Moravian College, a J.D. and an M.B.A. from Temple University, and a Master of Bioethics from the University of Pennsylvania. She is admitted to practice law in Pennsylvania and New Jersey.
